All adopters are subject to an adoption questionnaire, telephone interview, veterinary reference, home check and either telephone or visit follow up on adoption.
Please note we can only consider applications for dogs that are allocated to our rescue and advertised below.
We only consider homes where the dog has access to an enclosed backyard.
Where the dog the has regular access to large open areas such as beaches, fields, parks.
Where there are no children under the age of 8 years old. We will consider younger homes dependant on previous experience and the dog applied for.
The applicant owns the house or has proof from the landlord if rented that they can keep dogs.
The dog will not be left for long periods and if so appropriate cover is organised such as dog walkers or doggy day care.
That the adopter has the financial means to look after their dog. As once a dog is adopted it's the adopters responsibility to pay for any and all veterinary bills. Adopters must also be aware in that adopting a dog from China many of our rescues have life long and life limiting conditions due to the abuse they suffer.
That any of our dogs will be adopted under the agreement that they will only ever be house dogs and an integrated member of the family.
At any point you can no longer keep your dog they must be returned to LCDR.
Our adoption fee is £500 and this goes towards the dogs transport costs. On successful passed homecheck the adopter must pay a £200 deposit. If at any point you withdraw from the adoption this deposit will be fortified. This is as in the event of no adopter we need to ensure the funds for the unadopted dog can still be raised to get them out and into foster. The remaining £300 is payable no later than 1 week before the arrival of your dog.
Local adoption fee of dogs surrendered into our care from within the UK is £200. This is payable on signing your adoption contract after home check.
